Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Governor of Asir region and Chairman of the Foundation of Arab Thought, announced that the Foundation’s second conference will be held in Beirut on 4-6 December 2003.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal said that the Foundation of Arab Thought is keen to extend all possible support to research centres. He noted that the Foundation is a non-governmental organisation, which promotes no sect or faction over any other. The Foundation is for all Arab citizens and intellectuals.
Prince Khalid Al-Faisal said that the conference in Beirut will discuss political, economic, social and cultural problems in the Arab world, and the future of Arab-American, Arab-European, Arab-African and Arab-Asian relations.
Algerian President Abdul Aziz Boutalflika, Lebanese Premier Rafiq Hariri, Speaker of the Lebanese Council of Deputies Nabil Hariri, and over one thousand intellectuals, businessmen and academics from various Arab universities will attend the conference.
