The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi, on Sunday arrived in Doha to participate in the meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Committee for Petroleum Cooperation, which is due to be held later today.
At Doha International Airport, Al-Naimi was received by Qatar’s Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry, Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Atiyyah.
In a press statement on arrival, Al-Naimi said that the conference of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) due to be held on 4 December will work to preserve the stability of the international oil market at desired prices, within the range of $25 per barrel. “The achievement of stability of this price requires careful study of global oil supplies and the balance between supply and demand during forthcoming months,” the Minister said.
He stressed that maintaining an average price of $25 per barrel has proved useful to oil producers and consumers during the past four years, which promotes the interests of the international economy.
