New York, 1st November 2003

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton praised Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, saying: “Prince Abdullah is a sincere man, and has been doing his utmost to combat terrorism”.

At a press meeting at the UN headquarters here on Thursday, Clinton said that he has confidence in Crown Prince Abdullah. “He is an honest man, doing the best he can to fight terrorism. I take him at his word that he is doing what he can. We just have to keep working together to combat terrorism,” he said.

Clinton also said that he thinks the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will play a leading role in developing environmentally friendly solar energy. “In ten years from now, I would like to see Saudi Arabia not only as the world’s oil capital, but also its energy capital,” he said.
