31Oct2003 Prince Sultan receives officers at Ramadan audience

Riyadh, 31st October 2003

Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, the Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, on Thursday received senior officers of the armed forces, who came to greet him on the occasion of the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan, at his farm in Al-Buweibyat.

Speaking on the occasion, Prince Sultan reiterated the confidence put by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, the Saudi Government, the Royal Family, and all Saudi citizens, in the armed forces and security officials who devote their efforts in service of the country.

Prince Sultan highlighted the bounties bestowed by Almighty God on the Saudi people, principally that of Islam. Prince Sultan stressed the Kingdom’s commitment to adhere to the teachings of Islam, and its determination to extend all possible support to Muslims worldwide.

Prince Sultan said that Saudi Ulema (Muslim scholars), businessmen, academics, and citizens representing all sectors, work collectively alongside Custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Fahd and Crown Prince Abdullah in service of the country.

Prince Sultan quoted Crown Prince Abdullah saying that Saudi officials would always remain determined to work in service of Islam and that of the country. “In spite of all the difficulties we might face, we should remain determined to dedicate our efforts to service of the country and its development,” he said.

The audience was attended by Prince Faisal bin Saud bin Mohammed, and Prince Faisal bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Secretary General of the Prince Sultan Charitable Foundation.
