29Oct2003 Education Ministry to build 2,000 schools

Jeddah, 29th October 2003

The Ministry of Education plans to build 2,000 new schools to cope with growing numbers of students, Al-Madinah newspaper reported.

The Minister of Education, Dr Muhammad Al-Rasheed, told the paper that his Ministry had “numerous projects” pending, due to a shortage of suitable sites. Education accounts for 27% of the Kingdom’s budget, the Minister said.
