26Oct2003 King Fahd and Crown Prince make statement for Ramadan wishes

Riyadh, 26th October 2003

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, today wished all Muslims around the world blessed fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

In a joint statement to the nation on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, which begins tomorrow, King Fahd and Crown Prince Abdullah prayed to Almighty God to accept Muslims’ worship in this blessed month, citing verses of Quran and sayings of the Prophet Mohammed that Ramadan embodies a precious chance for forgiveness. They said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is proud to be blessed as home of the Two Holy Mosques, and expressed its readiness to undertake duty of serving visitors of the Holy Mosques.

They reaffirmed the commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia firmly to abide by the teachings of the Islamic Sharia in word and deeds.

King Fahd and Crown Prince Abdullah called upon the Muslim nation to unify its ranks, and to follow Islam’s true moderate path.
