The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) inaugurated a reach-out program for Muslims around the world with an allocated budget of SR886,000, as part of its annual program to assist poor and needy people during the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement to the press, WAMY Assistant Secretary General, Dr Abdulwahab Noor Wali, said: “With the advent of Ramadan, WAMY has begun distributing Iftar (breaking of the fast) meals for poor Muslims in 40 African, Asian, and European countries, which will continue throughout the blessed month of Ramadan.” The program also includes educational and cultural activities before and after the meals.
Dr Noor Wali stressed the importance of such programs, noting that they enable Muslims to fulfil their religious obligations towards the needy and destitute in the world.
