14Oct2003 Crown Prince holds talks with Malaysian Prime Minister

Putrajaya, Malaysia, 14th October 2003

The Malaysian Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir Mohammad, today received Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Crown Prince Abdullah and Dr Mahathir held a second meeting later today, in order to continue discussions they began earlier. During the meeting, they discussed recent events in Islamic and international arenas, particularly the Palestinian cause, and their concern about the aggressive practices of the Israeli occupying forces. The leaders stressed the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital. They also reviewed developments of the situation in Iraq and the means of enhancing bilateral cooperation.

The Malaysian Prime Minister later hosted a dinner party in honour of Crown Prince Abdullah and his accompanying delegation.
