23Sep2003 Ambassadors praise the Kingdom’s achievements

Riyadh, 23 September, 2003

A number of ambassadors to the Kingdom expressed their greetings to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosque King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier as well as to the Saudi people on occasion of the National Day the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In an interview with Radio Riyadh on Tuesday, the ambassadors praised the achievements of late King Abdulaziz bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Saud and the progress the Kingdom is currently witnessing in various spheres.

They affirmed that what has been accomplished since the start of the modern Saudi state is a matter of pride to all Arabs. They also extended their thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom for supporting Arab development in many different areas. The ambassadors valued the role of the Kingdom in establishing the Arab League and described it as "essential". They said that Saudi Arabia had contributed effectively in forming Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), which is regarded as the first Islamic organization to seek the welfare of Muslims worldwide.

The ambassadors who expressed these sentiments are: Tunisian Ambassador Salah el-Deen Maawi, Lebanese Ambassador Ahmad Shamar Khales, Bahraini Ambassador Rashed bin Saad Al-Dosari and Egyptian Ambassador Mohammad Wafik Khalil.
