Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, President of AGFUND, today informed the world of the Arab role in social and economical development in the world.

Addressing a symposium held on the sidelines of the ongoing meeting of the Council of Governors of the IMF and World Bank, Prince Talal said the Arab developmental donating record in the world is excellent when compared with the record of the world's rich.

He called on the most advanced countries to shoulder their historic responsibilities to build a more stable world order. He highlighted the importance of Arab developmental assistance which, he said, goes from developed countries to less developed countries.

He said Arab assistance goes back to mid-fifties of last century when the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Kuwait established a donation program for needy countries.
