19Sep2003 Saudi Arabia denies report of acquiring nuclear weapons

London, 19th September, 2003

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has categorically denied the report of London-based Guardian newspaper on Thursday which said that the Kingdom was planning to

acquire nuclear weapons.

A statement released by the Saudi Embassy in London said, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has no intention to acquire a nuclear bomb or any other kind of nuclear weapons.

'There is no program of atomic energy at any part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and there is no plan for implementing such a program', the statement added.
