15Sep2003 Prince Sultan opens expansion project at Al-Qasim Airport

Buraidah, Saudi Arabia, 15th September 2003

Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, the Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, today opened the expansion project at the royal terminal of Al-Qasim regional airport.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Abdullah bin Mohammed Raheemi, Chief of Civil Aviation, said that the total investment in Al-Qasim regional airport, since its establishment in 1963, exceeds SR300 million.

He said that the 800 square-metre expansion of the royal terminal includes civil, architectural, electrical and mechanical works, adding that further development projects would be implemented at the airport next year.

The opening ceremony was attended by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Al-Qasim Region; Prince Abdul Aziz bin Majid bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Governor of Al-Qasim Region; other princes, and senior officials.
