15Sep2003 Seminar on Saudi-Japanese relations

Riyadh, 15th September 2003

The King Faisal Research and Islamic Studies Centre is organising a seminar on Saudi-Japanese relations in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in Riyadh. The seminar will take place on 20-21 September.

The first session of the seminar, which will be chaired by Dr Mazin Al-Mutabikani, will discuss working papers on Saudi-Japanese dialogue and cooperation, the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support Arab and Islamic studies in Japan, and past and present characteristics of Arab and Islamic culture in Japan.

The second session of the seminar, which will be chaired by Dr Awad Al-Badi, will discuss working papers on Saudi-Japanese economic relations, the future of Saudi-Japanese cultural relations, Japan’s relations with the Middle East, the experience of the General Organization for Technical Education and Vocational Training in cooperating with the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation, and reciprocal understanding between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Japan.
