3,000 Somalian citizens have benefited from a two-week medical caravan organized by the Riyadh-based World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), which covered lower Shabeelle Region in southern Somalia.
WAMY Assistant Secretary General, Dr Abdul Wahab Noorwali, said that the medical team had performed 270 surgical operations, vaccinated 700 people, and treated over 2,000 patients free of charge.
In addition to the medical services provided, Saudi personnel delivered 25 Islamic lessons and 30 lectures, and distributed a number of Islamic books and pamphlets.
Dr Noorwali said that the caravan was part of WAMY programs designed for the benefit of Somalian youth.
