The Foreign Minister, Prince Saud Al-Faisal, said that the decision issued by the Arab League Council in its 120th meeting to invite the Iraqi Governing Council to attend Arab League meetings as a member state was the most significant decision taken in the meeting.
In a statement to the press following the first closed-door session of the Arab Foreign Ministers, he noted that there would be another decision issued, concerning the Palestinian cause and recent developments in the Palestinian occupied territories.
Answering a question on whether the Arab League Council will change its attitude towards the transitional Governing Council of Iraq if it does not adhere to the decision of the Council, he said: “I think that the transitional Governing Council has adhered to the decision of the Council, and members of the Council will present a report to the League’s Council in its next meeting.”
