31Aug2003 No evidence of Saudi involvement in assassination of Al-Hakim

Jeddah, 31st August 2003

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that some sources have circulated reports in Iraq that Saudi citizens were involved in the terrorist attack that claimed the life of Mohammed Baqir Al-Hakim, but the sources have provided no evidence for their claim.

The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed its hope that these sources reveal what information they possess, and provide the government with that information, instead of repeating such reports without any proof to corroborate them.
