France is keen to enhance technical cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly with King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), on environment, satellite imaging, and other related areas, which fall under current agreements.
Cultural Advisor at the French Embassy, Guy Regnier, said that further agreements are planned, which will enhance the level of cooperation in technical and cultural fields between France and the Kingdom.
In an interview with Riyadh Daily, he said: “Our cultural cooperation with Saudi Arabia dates back to July 1912, when the first cultural agreement was signed between the two countries. Since then there have been several milestones in the process of enhancing our cultural relationship and benefiting from mutual agreements in various cultural and technical fields.”
He said that the two countries promote cooperation in the linguistic field via cultural centres in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, which provide training in the French language to Saudi youth.
