An official source at the Interior Ministry said that after receiving intelligence that some suspected militants were residing in a farmhouse in Gadhi town, in Uyoon Al-Jawaa Governorate, Al-Qasim Region, security officials evacuated all women and children to a secure place and encircled the farm. The security forces asked the men to surrender, whereupon, they were bombarded by heavy fire and hand grenades. The security officials returned fire.
Four people who had been harbouring the suspected militants on their property were arrested; six of the culprits were killed, and one injured; two security men were martyred, and eight suffered minor injuries.
The source said that details of the incident would be announced imminently.
