The Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Naimi, described the Kingdom’s seminar in London on gas exploration and production in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as successful. He noted that representatives of the Kingdom’s gas sector have presented useful information for companies wishing to bid to invest.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al-Naimi said that the objective of the seminar is to brief the 41 participating companies on potential investment in the Kingdom’s gas sector.
Al-Naimi said that he does not believe that the failure to reach agreement with the first eight bidders will detrimentally influence the process, noting the success of negotiations with Shell and Total to implement a joint venture in Al-Rub’a Al-Khali.
He said that participants in the seminar include companies from Brazil, Great Britain, China, France, India, Japan, Russia and the United States.
