21Jul2003 Seminar on investment opportunities in Kingdom’s gas sector

Riyadh, 21st July 2003

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Eng. Ali Al-Naimi, will open a seminar on investment opportunities in the field of gas exploration and production in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday in London.

The three-day seminar, which is organized by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, is expected to host representatives of over 40 petroleum companies from various parts of the world.

The seminar’s opening session will be attended by the Saudi Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland, Prince Turki Al-Faisal.

Participants of the seminar will discuss the Saudi economy; new systems for investment in the Kingdom; the Saudi judicial system, and other related topics.

Al-Naimi reiterated the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to attract foreign investment, as part of its policy to diversify the Kingdom’s sources of income. He noted that invitations have been extended to companies from the U.S., Japan, Malaysia, China, India, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Russia, Italy, Canada, Germany, and other countries, which could contribute to gas exploration and production in the Kingdom.
