14Jul2003 Crown Prince to lay foundation stone for Taif reservoir

Taif, Saudi Arabia, 14th July 2003

Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, will lay the foundation stone for the strategic water reservoir in Taif later today.

The reservoir will be built at a cost of SR85 million, the Minister of Water and Electricity, Dr Ghazi Bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Gosaibi, announced on Sunday. He said that the water reservoir project, to be executed by a national company within 24 months, would be of strategic importance to Taif and surrounding areas.

The reservoir will be built on an area of 75,000 square metres, and will have a storage capacity of 300,000 cubic metres, in addition to buildings for operation and maintenance and other facilities.
