The Council of Arab Information Ministers concluded its 36th session here today.
The Minister of Culture and Information, Dr Fouad bin Abdulsalam Al-Farsy, lead the Kingdom’s delegation to the session.
In a statement issued at the end of the meeting, the Ministers decided to organize an Arab information campaign in the international arena to confront Israel’s policy of demolishing houses, besiegement of Al-Quds city, and establishing an apartheid wall of segregation, which threatens the structure of a Palestinian state and endangers the peace process and stability in the region.
The Ministers referred the projects of establishing an Arab picture information agency, and an Arab satellite television channel, to the Higher Coordination Committee of Satellite Channels to review the projects, and finance them through the private sector.
The Ministers decided to provide the required support to the First Economic Forum for Arab-U.S. Relations, which is due to be held in Detroit City, U.S.A., next September, and to encourage Arab-U.S. organizations concerned with improving the image of Arabs in the United States.
The Ministers also decided to hold a joint meeting of the Council of Arab Information Ministers and the Ministers of Youth and Sports next June, on the sidelines of the 37th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers.
