23Jun2003 Saudi delegation visits the United Kingdom

A Saudi delegation comprising a number of ministers, officials and businessmen today begins a four-day visit to the United Kingdom, during which the delegation will hold meetings and attend seminars aimed at presenting a full picture of the progress and developments of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The visit follows the directives of the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Britain, Prince Turki Al-Faisal, who is keen to promote dialogue with politicians, economists and representatives of the mass media in Britain to present a full picture of progress and developments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all fields, and to address any possible misinformation acquired about the Kingdom.

The seminars and meetings will be held under the patronage of Prince Turki Al-Faisal. The seminars are entitled “The Government, Economic Growth and Development in the Kingdom,” “Development of the Systems in the Kingdom,” and “Economic Ambitions and Expectations in the Kingdom.”

Members of the delegation will hold a meeting in the Saudi-British Business Council, will attend a round-table discussion in the British Royal Institute for Integrated Services on issues relating to stability in the Middle East, and will attend a panel session with Members of Parliament. The Saudi Embassy has invited a number of media representatives to attend the meetings and seminars.

The delegation comprises Prince Turki Al-Faisal; Prince Abdullah bin Faisal bin Turki, Governor of Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority; Dr Hashim bin Abdullah Yamani, Minister of Commerce and Industry; Khalid Al-Qusaibi, Minister of Economy and Planning; Abdullah bin Ahmad bin Zainal, Minister of State and Member of Cabinet; Hamad Al-Sayari, Governor of Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency; Dr Abdul-Rahman Al-Tuweijri, Secretary General of the Supreme Economic Council; Saleh Al-Hussein, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Industrial Affairs; Abdulrahman Al-Jeraisey, Chairman of the Council of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry; a number of Shoura Council members, businessmen and senior officials in the economic and education sectors.
