In a move to privatise the Kingdom’s education sector, the government has granted permission to private organizations to establish two new universities and 36 colleges.
Government incentives will include the provision of land for student campuses at subsidized costs and soft loans for construction of buildings, Arab News reported today.
The implementation of these projects will attract an investment of SR3 billion. The Ministry of Higher Education has granted licenses for the establishment of these colleges in nine different cities over the forthcoming few years, a Ministry statement said.
The Government has also approved the establishment of two private universities: one will be an affiliate of Riyadh Charitable Foundation For Sciences, and the other, Dar Al-Faisal, will be an affiliate of King Faisal Charitable Foundation.
