16Jun2003 Saudi Arabia tops list for Arab and foreign investment in Jordan

Amman, 16th June 2003

Saudi Arabia tops the list for Arab and foreign investments in Jordan, with 1.6billion Jordanian dinars invested in various sectors during the first four months of this year, according to a statement by the Jordanian Planning Ministry.

The statement released here today said that Saudi investment is centred on the tourism sector, hotel construction, assisting medical and foodstuffs industries, and contributing to the capital of private universities.

Under an agreement signed in 1982, the two countries are implementing measures to boost economic and trade cooperation.
