16Jun2003 36 new private colleges to be established

Jeddah, 16th June 2003

The Ministry of Higher Education has granted licenses for the establishment of 36 new private colleges in nine cities over the forthcoming few years, Al-Watan newspaper reported.

In an article published yesterday, the paper said that there are already six private colleges in Jeddah, Riyadh, Abha and Al-Baha. Businessmen wishing to invest in education and training estimated the cost of establishing the new colleges at SR3 billion. The new colleges will be set up in Riyadh, Jeddah, Tabuk, Hail, the Eastern Province, Buraidah, Madinah, Qasim and Taif.
