06Jun2003 Saudi aid distributed in Iraqi province of Misan

Baghdad, 6th June 2003

Four trucks loaded with Saudi aid were distributed among the needy in the Iraqi province of Misan today.

The chief of the Saudi relief mission in Iraq, Dr Saifuddin Abuzaid, told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the relief, which was part of the third caravan sent by the Saudi Committee for the Relief of the Iraqi People, contained drinking water and foodstuffs. He said that over 4000 families in Misan benefited from the assistance.

Two truckloads of aid were also distributed among 7500 families in the provinces of Nainawa, Karbilaa, and Al-Najaf, and among 5000 families in Baghdad, Dr Abuzaid said.
