Prince Turki Al-Faisal, the Kingdom’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland, on Sunday met with Saudi students who are pursuing their academic studies at British Universities.
During the meeting, Prince Turki described the students as “ambassadors of their country,” and stressed the importance of continued contact and interaction between students.
He condemned the criminal bombings in Riyadh, and added: “Our grief was increased two-fold when we learnt that these acts were carried out by those believed to be the sons of our nation.” He stressed: “The attempt of those criminals to terrify us has failed, because the Kingdom is a country well-known for its security, peace and Islamic values.” Addressing the students, he said: “You have to work hard and make sacrifices to defend the nation and to protect its reputation.”
The Educational Attaché at the Kingdom’s Embassy in Britain, Abdullah Al-Nasir, said that the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques has generously supported Saudi students in pursuit of their education. He stressed the government’s keenness to facilitate their residence overseas, saying that the Kingdom is a model country in providing such services to its students abroad.
Al-Nasir said that there are 28 Saudi clubs for students, and 25 Saudi schools in Britain. The Chief of the Saudi students’ clubs, Abdullah Al-Miflih, praised the support of the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for these clubs and schools in various cities of Great Britain.
