Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, on Sunday met the French President, Jacques Chirac, on the sidelines of the Group of Eight (G8) Summit of Industrialized Countries.
The French President said that the meeting dealt with the peace process in the Middle East and the reconstruction of Iraq.
The Crown Prince and President Chirac stressed the necessity of cooperation to promote implementation of the ‘Road Map’, which provides for the establishment of a Palestinian state by the year 2005.
The Crown Prince and President Chirac noted that the United Nations Security Council resolution 1483 paves the way for the reconstruction of Iraq within an internationally recognized, legitimate framework.
