27May2003 Prince Sultan awarded humanitarian prize

Dubai, 27th May 2003

Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, the Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, was today awarded the Sheikh Rashid Prize for the Humanitarian Personality of Year 2002.

Addressing the gathering, Prince Sultan expressed his appreciation to the organizers of the event for selecting him as winner of the prize. He paid tribute to the prize’s founder, the late Sheikh Rashid, who was a pioneer in promoting philanthropic deeds. Prince Sultan said that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a source of help, charity and assistance.

The event was attended by princes, and a number of dignitaries and officials of the UAE.
