04May2003 Saudi Arabia enhances its cultural ties with Iran

Saudi Arabia will participate for the second consecutive year in Tehran International Book Show in line with the existing cultural cooperation between the Kingdom and Iran.

In addition to Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Tunisia, Oman, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Austria, Pakistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Uruguay, Afghanistan, Armenia, Britain, the United States, Spain, Switzerland, Venezuela, Cuba, Italy, India, the Netherlands, France and Germany will participate in the show.

As many as 600 publishing houses from the Arab ad non-Arab countries will participate. The book show which will display more than 50,000 titles. Some regional and international organizations like the Regional Economic Cooperation Organization, UNICEF and UNESCO will also participate in the ten-day show, which will occupy an area of 17,500 square meters.

On the fringes of the show, seminars will be organized on means of showing solidarity with the Palestinian people, and the cultural and literary cooperation between the Arab countries and Iran.
