Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, today received U.S. Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld and his accompanying delegation.
The U.S. Secretary of Defence conveyed the greetings of U.S. President George W. Bush to the Crown Prince, who sent his greetings to the President in turn.
During the audience, they discussed developments in the region, particularly the situation in Iraq and the necessity of preserving Iraq’s security, unity, independence and territorial integrity. They also reviewed the situation in occupied Palestinian territories, the necessity of speeding up implementation of the road map to peace, and bilateral relations between the two countries.
The audience was attended by Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General; Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister; Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Saudi Ambassador to the U.S.; other princes and officials, and U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom Robert Jordan.
