23Apr2003 Saudi relief convoy starts mission

Baghdad, 23 April 2003

The Saudi relief and humanitarian assistance convoy for the Iraqi people started today its humanitarian and medical missions by receiving a number of wounded and injured Iraqis and providing them with the required medical services.

Colonel Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Salamah, the Intensive Care and Anaesthetics Consultant and Member of the Saudi Medical Team accompanying the Saudi Field Hospital, revealed that the hospital received today its first case and performed an urgent operation on a patient.

He noted that the intensive care and anaesthetics unit comprises one operation theatre that can perform two operations simultaneously and its medical staff consists of three anaestheticians and sixteen assistants.
