The Iranian envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), Mohammad Khadim Quansari, praised on Monday the outcome of Riyadh's regional extraordinary conference attended by representatives of the neighboring countries of Iraq which affirmed solidarity with the Iraqi People and sovereignty of Iraqi territory. The conference concluded its one-day deliberations in the Saudi capital last Friday.
"The conference was a new attempt to show solidarity among the important countries in the region," said Quansari in an interview with "Iran" newspaper published today.
He said that the conference had a positive morale-boosting impact on the Iraqi people, adding that it was an important event for the Iraqi people to feel that their neighbors laid stress on the unity of the Iraqi land.
Quansari stressed that the neighboring countries have no intention of interfering in the Iraqi local affairs and considers that it is not in the interest of Iraq and the region that other countries, including the superpower, should interfere in the Iraqi local affairs.
He added: "Iraqi’s neighbours have clear idea of how to assist the Iraqi people in making their own choice for the type of government they desire through a free election without foreign pressure."
