21Apr2003 Heroin smuggler beheaded in Riyadh

Riyadh, 21st April 2003

A statement issued by the Interior Ministry announced that Mian Gul Khan Nadir Khan, a Pakistan national, was beheaded here on Monday after being convicted of smuggling heroin into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

"The culprit was convicted by the Islamic Shariah court, and the verdict was approved by the Cassation Court and the Supreme Judicial Council," said the statement, reiterating the determination of the Saudi government to ensure law and order and to punishing criminals severely.
