Dr Al-Farsy noted that the organization of the seminar on intellectual property rights is the culmination of the Ministry of Information’s efforts to support innovation. He pointed out that two years ago an independent administration was set up to manage copyright matters, adding that arrangements are underway to open branches for the administration of copyright in other major cities of the Kingdom.
Dr Al-Farsy affirmed that the Ministry of Information has been giving utmost attention to the press and to the system of publications. Referring to the importance of the developing the press, Al-Farsy said that the allocation by the press of part of their annual profits for the development of the press would be a significant achievement. "It is hoped that the association of journalists will play an effective role in protecting the rights of the journalists," he added.
For his part, Musfir Al-Musfir, the assistant undersecretary of the Information Ministry for internal information, said the organization of the seminar comes in line with the resolutions of the Council of the Ministers of Culture in member states of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)
