The Interior Minister, Prince Naif bin Abdul Aziz, who is also Chairman of the Supreme Information Council and President of the Saudi Information and Communication Society, has approved the recommendations submitted by the Information Forum, which was organized last month at King Saud University in Riyadh.
Dr Ali Al-Karni, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Information and Communication Society, said that the recommendations promote development of the Saudi media, and include the establishment of a centre for media studies.
The recommendations call upon Saudi universities to offer courses in media studies for female Saudi students at the levels of bachelor and masters degrees.
The Information Forum, which was attended by approximately 70 Saudi and Arab dignitaries, reviewed 47 research papers on various related subjects.
