14Apr2003 Prince Saud calls for conference of regional Foreign Ministers

Riyadh, 14th April 2003

The Foreign Minister, Prince Saud Al-Faisal, said that in accordance with directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has decided to call for the convention of an urgent regional conference for Iraq’s neighbouring countries.

Prince Saud Al-Faisal said that the conference would be held at the level of Foreign Ministers of the concerned countries, on Friday 18 April 2003, in Riyadh.

The conference will be held in the light of developments of the situation in Iraq, and the potential repercussions for the countries of the region and the Iraqi people.
