The Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) has signed a SR30 million contract with the international Bechtel Company to conduct a feasibility study, in accordance with the standards of the World Bank, to set up a refinery and an aluminium smelter plant.
The refinery and the smelter plant will be the biggest of their kind in the Middle East. President of Ma’aden, Dr Abdullah Al-Dabbagh, signed the contract on behalf of his company, and David Robinson, Regional Director of Bechtel, on the behalf of Bechtel.
