Al-Nadwa newspaper stressed the necessity to restore peace and order in Iraq, and to save public property, which belongs to the Iraqi people. The absence of authority and security bodies creates an environment prone to thieving. An interim authority to restore security and order is vital, in order to protect the public property that rightfully belongs to the Iraqi people,” the paper said.
The Dammam-based, Al-Youm newspaper stressed the importance that that U.S. does not undermine the ability of Iraq to determine their national interest. “There should be no impediment to the U.S. calling for the formation of an interim Iraqi government, to be followed by a permanent government, to promote Baghdad’s relations with other countries, and begin a new page in Iraqi history.” It stressed that this is the only correct path for the U.S. to finish its mission in Iraq.
Al-Madinah newspaper warned of threats in U.S. media, which began even before the end of the war against Iraq, to prepare local and international public opinion to deal with U.S. plans to act against Syria. The paper said: “U.S. Administration has accused Syria of supporting Saddam’s regime by providing weapons, and by allowing Iraqis wanted by America entry into the country. U.S. Administration has suddenly called for holding Syria accountable, which had been in store for a long time. The motives for the hawks in Washington and Tel Aviv to head for Damascus are evident. The question now is: are we going to let Syria face this dirty plan alone, or will we wait until the situation becomes critical and these hawks develop designs on another Arab capital?”
