The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today signed an agreement on international warranty for the purchase, lease or accessories of airplanes at a ceremony held under the auspices of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law in Rome.
Prince Fahd bin Abdullah, the Assistant Minister of Defence and Aviation for Civil Aviation, signed the agreement on behalf of the Kingdom.
The agreement was approved at a meeting between the International Civil Aviation Organization and the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law in Cape Town, South Africa, in October 2001, which was attended by 59 countries.
The agreement and its appendix provide an international guarantee for the origin and registration of the aircraft, among other particulars.
