11Mar2003 King Fahd orders distribution of 317,188 copies of Holy Quran

Jiddah, 11th March 2003

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz has given directives for the provision of 317,188 copies of the Holy Quran to government bodies in the Kingdom, and Saudi Embassies and Consulates abroad.

The copies of the Holy Quran are printed at King Fahd Complex for Printing the Quran in Madinah.

The Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Saleh bin Abdul Aziz Al Al-Sheikh, said that the copies will be sent to the Kingdom’s Embassies and Consulates around the world imminently. “This noble gesture of King Fahd comes in response to Muslims’ need of copies of the Holy Quran, with its translation and interpretation, all over the world in order to spread the message of God,” he added.
