Jiddah, 9th March 2003

Prince Naif bin Abdul Aziz, the Interior Minister and General Supervisor of the Saudi Committee for Supporting Al-Quds Intifada, has issued directives for funding construction and equipping a Centre for Tumour Treatment in Palestine, at the total cost of SR19,552,000.

The Gaza-based Centre will be the only one of its kind in Palestine. Palestinian hospitals urgently require the facilities to be provided by the Centre.

The 1500-square metre Centre will treat hundreds of patients who are in dire need of medical aid and cannot leave Palestine for treatment.

Completion of the project will take nine months.
