09Mar2003 Harad Gas Project near completion

Saudi Gazette reported today that 90% of the work of Harad Gas Project has been completed.

It said that the Harad Laboratory, the second of its kind in the Kingdom, has a daily production capacity of 1.6 billion cubic feet of gas.

The laboratory, whose completion is expected by June 2003, has been designed to produce both sweet and bitter gas. It will supply the main gas network with 1.5 billion cubic feet butane (cooking gas). A large proportion of the product will be consumed in the Eastern Province and will be supplied to Riyadh and Yanbu.
