The National Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development (NCWCD) announced that no further licenses will be issued for importing falcons, due to the close of this year’s hunting season.
“The NCWCD has cooperated in this regard with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Customs Department, and the other relevant authorities Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and neighbouring Arab countries,” said a statement issued by the NCWCD today.
Dr Abdul Aziz Abu Zinada, Secretary General of the NCWCD, urged citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to adhere to the specified regulations so as to preserve the Kingdom’s Wildlife.
Dr Abu Zinada noted that the efforts exerted by the Ministries of the Interior, Agriculture, and Municipal and Rural Affairs, and the Department of Customs towards the preservation of wildlife have yielded positive results. He lauded the significant role played by the Ministry of Information, notably the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the television, radio, and local newspapers in the enlightenment of the citizens regarding the importance of wildlife preservation.
