Prince Turki Al-Faisal presented his letters of credence as the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Kingdom to Queen of the United Kingdom Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace in London today.
During the meeting, Prince Turki Al-Faisal conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, and Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, the Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, to Queen Elizabeth II, wishing her good health and happiness, and the British people steady progress and prosperity.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the meeting, Prince Turki praised the character of Queen Elizabeth and described relations between the two Kingdoms as strong and good, saying that he looks forward to working to consolidate and improve these relations.
The audience was attended by Princess Noaf bint Fahd bin Khalid, the spouse of Prince Turki Al-Faisal, and other senior embassy personnel.
Later, Prince Turki Al-Faisal held a reception in honour of a number of British dignitaries, senior officials and Arab Ambassadors accredited to London. The reception was attended by Baroness Simons, that Minister of State for International Trade Affairs at the Foreign Office.
