Riyadh, 6th March 2003

The World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) has appealed to all Arabs and Muslims to provide humanitarian aid, such as food, clothes and medicine, to the Lebanese people recently afflicted by flash floods in the north of the country, including Akar and Biqaa Valley. The floods have caused serious damage to homes, farms, and electricity and water supply.

WAMY Assistant Secretary General, Dr Abdulwahab Noorwali, received requests from the inhabitants of affected areas and some charitable associations appealing to their brothers in Saudi Arabia and other parts of the Muslim world to come to their aid. Norwali has appealed to individuals and charity organizations to do their best to assist their brothers in Lebanon and alleviate this humanitarian suffering.
