01Mar2003 Labour Minister speaks on Arab Conference

Tunis, 1st March 2003

The Minister of Labour and Social Affairs and Head of the Kingdom’s delegation to the 30th session of the Arab Labour Conference, Dr Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Namlah, expressed his happiness with the results of the Conference that concluded here today.

In a press statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he said that the Kingdom would adopt the resolutions of the Conference that meet the requirements of the Saudi labour market, and stressed that the policy of Saudization of jobs does not contradict these resolutions.

On the national strategy for tackling poverty in the Kingdom, he noted that Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, issued directives to the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs to formulate a strategy in cooperation with public and private sectors, wishing them utmost success.
