Prince Abdul-Majeed bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Makkah Region and Head of the Central Hajj Committee, today announced the success of the progress of pilgrims to the plains of Arafat.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Prince Abdul-Majeed said that the pilgrims reached the plains of Arafat in a record time. “This is attributed to the blessings of Almighty Allah, the efforts exerted by the authorities overseeing Hajj and pilgrim affairs, and the human resources and services provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” he said.
“All the guests of Allah to the Kingdom (the pilgrims) are performing Hajj rituals in a secure and peaceful environment amid the blessings of Allah, and under the auspices of the state’s integrated services, which include medical facilities, foodstuffs, catering services and transportation. All services are available to meet the pilgrims’ needs. These services and facilities conform with the expectations of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, who are always keen to enable pilgrims to perform Hajj in comfort and security from their arrival in the Kingdom until their departure,” Prince Abdul-Majeed noted.
The Governor said that the Saudi Government has made every possible effort to serve pilgrims, and continues to execute vital projects and conduct studies and research programs to develop these services.
Prince Abdul-Majeed noted the success accomplished in providing transportation for the pilgrims, and he described security and health services as “excellent”. “There have been no reports, thus far, of any epidemic or contagious diseases among pilgrims,” he said.
The Governor expressed his compliments to King Fahd, Crown Prince Abdullah, Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, the Saudi people and all Muslims on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha.
