09Feb2003 Prince Abdul-Majeed affirms pilgrims’ safe arrival in Mina

Mina, 9th February 2003

Prince Abdul-Majeed bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Makkah Region and Head of the Central Hajj Committee, today affirmed that the plan for the arrival of pilgrims in Mina was successful, and that all pilgrims are performing their rituals in ease and comfort, supported by a galaxy of services.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Prince Abdul-Majeed said that everything has proceeded smoothly, and that he has, thus far, received no report of accident.

Prince Abdul-Majeed attributed this to the cooperation of all sectors to facilitate Hajj affairs and serve pilgrims, and their keenness to implement all plans prepared by the authorities in this regard. “All pilgrim caravans, which have come from all over the world, settled in Mina in a record time to perform the fifth pillar of Islam on this day,” he noted.
